B.O.M. challenge: Week 2

This week I have had the opportunity to start studying the Book of Mormon. I have read every day, but between that and my seminary reading, I haven't really gotten that far. Something I'd like to share is from 1 Nephi, Chapter 2. In this chapter, Nephi first gets his own testimony. He says, "And it came to pass that I, Nephi, being exceedingly young, nevertheless being large in stature, and also having great desires to know of the mysteries of God, wherefore, I did cry unto the Lord; and behold he did visit me, and did soften my heart that I did believe all the words which had been spoken by my father."  This taught me about the importance of effort in gaining a testimony. Maleah    I had one thought today come to me and it was, when you wake up in the  morning and the light gets turned on, your eyes hurt. Normally you would put  your hands infront of your eyes so the light would not be so bright. But if you never remove your hand from covering your eyes you will look to the bottom  and take baby steps over and over again. You can't see the lighted path infront  of you, if you slowly remove the hand you will easily adjust quickly to the light  to see the lighted path infront of you.    This reminds me to our goal for this month, with waking up in the morning  and going to the temple it may be difficult but what we can see and do with removing  our hands and going to the temple is amazing. My goal this month:  I want to become closer to christ by serving and going to the temple. I want to learn and have non forgettable memories of this month.
