The 23 Day Gift to Christ

Today was the last day of the December challenge!! My family had the opportunity to take an elderly woman with us to the temple to do her names today. We were so glad that we could help her out and have that experience!! Hope everyone has a happy New Years!

This Saturday, December 30th, will be the last day of our December challenge this year. We would like to invite everyone who has the opportunity to, to join us by going to the temple that day. Please also bring your friends and take a picture and post it below so we can see what you did to give a gift to Christ this Christmas season!!

Today the temple was closed, but as my family was out and about we saw the Ogden temple. The funny thing was that we were in Ogden for a couple of hours, but only happened to notice the temple (which we were parked right across the street from) as we looked up when we were leaving. I think this experience is very applicable to our lives. We need to look up toward God more often to realize our blessings that often are right in front of our eyes. Too often we are focused on other things such as our phones or other things of the world, that we miss the beauty and blessings that God has put right in front of us. Anyway, I hope everyone has a very Merry Christmas, and that we all can remember the reason for the season!

Today one of our friends joined us at the temple!! It was way fun! Some of the rest of our group is on vacation right now, so they couldn’t make it, but it was way peaceful this morning! It felt good to just relax and focus on the work of the Lord!

Today we decided to do something with our families!

Some of us went to the Manti temple today! This is my absolute favorite temple! It was so cool!

We don’t have a picture today, but we went in two separate groups and both had an amazingly experience! We did someone else’s family names, and definitely knew the people we were doing work for were there today!

Today we decided to do a service to the world by staying home and not spreading all of our various illnesses. :D That just goes to show that even in the littlest of ways you can do service each day!

Today we left for the temple at 4:50 AM so we could be in line and get in right at 5:30. There were already nine people, not including us, waiting there at 5:10. Crazy!! Go youth though!

Day six!! We all made it! One of our girls even stayed up way late, but she still came to do confirmations real quick before going back to get some sleep! Go team!! Also, shout out to our parents and the temple workers who wake up super early to make this possible! Thank you so much!

Early morning trip today!! We all woke up and left by 4:15 AM to make it to the temple in time. We are all feeling wide awake and ready to start our day! We also had two friends join us today (only one is in the picture)!!

Today we decided to spread the Christmas cheer and go to peoples houses to share a Christmas message. We went to five houses in all and it took until the fifth house for us to actually be able to come in and share one. It was a way cool experience and we felt just like the missionaries! I have to admit though, we did get a little discouraged at the 4th house, and may have started singing them our own version of  “Do you wanna build a snowman?” They still didn’t answer, but it was so fun!

We decided to do the December Challenge again this year!! This year it will be a 26 day challenge, 21 temple days, and 5 service sundays! This time with a couple extra people!! Whoot whoot!!

Hey, this is Megan, reporting the results of the December Challenge. I was a little busy this month and did not post as much as I wanted to, and did not fully complete my goal. I have made it to 1 Nephi 10. Although I am a little disappointed, our stake just gave us the goal to read the Book of Mormon all of the way through by quest (a youth conference based on Book of Mormon adventures) in June. I take it that Heavenly Father has decided to give me another chance to complete my goal:) Something I have been reading recently is in chapter 8 when Nephi talks about the tree of life. During this chapter I had started reading just a verse or two a day and sometimes would skip ahead and read at random places in that chapter. The last time I had read that chapter, I marked each time groups of people were striving to get to the tree of life. Every time I read one, I would be so happy that they were striving to get to the tree, and then I would read the next verse and it would say something lik...
